If you miss the slightly sweet, nutty flavor of peanut butter, this homemade tahinomelo is the perfect Paleo alternative. Made with honey, tahini, and a pinch of sea salt, this Greek spread is heavenly with strawberry jam or spread on sliced apples.

Unlike traditional nut butters, this healthy take cuts out all the funky additives in favor of honey-roasted real ingredients (no refined sugars needed). Easy to prep, it only takes five minutes to make!

Some Helpful Tips To Get Started:

  • Be sure to mix your tahini thoroughly before using it. The oils and solids often separate, so you’ll want to combine them well to capture the ideal consistency.
  • Experiment with ratios. The ratio of honey to tahini is really a matter of preference. You can reduce the honey to keep it more savory, or go for a 1:1 ratio for a sweeter flavor.
  • Store tahinomelo at room temperature. Tahinomelo can be kept unrefrigerated. Stir it before using it, however, to re-incorporate the oils.
